We caught 3 Foot Ninja playing at The Ketton Ox in Yarm on 1st May. At first glance we were sceptical as the average age of the band looked to be about 15 years. However once they started to play we were suprised in the best possible way. This young band put everything they had into their performance and produced a very entertaining, polished set. A mixture of original songs and covers went over well with the crowd at The Ketton Ox and the sound that came from these boys took me back to the punk sounds of 1978 - a mixture of The Clash, The Buzzcocks with a hint of The Undertones and Psychedelic Furs.
The members of the band all hail from North Yorkshire and are Jordan Bell - Vocals and Guitar, Joe Bell - Bass and Vocals and Sam Power - Drums and Vocals. Yes, Jordan and Joe are brothers! Suprisingly this was the first time we have seen this talented outfit, especially when we learnt they have played a number of high profile venues across the region including Middlesbrough Music Live, Stockton Fringe Festival and Middlesbrough Town Hall.
They have also recorded one album which we understand was received very well and are currently selling their newly released second single - Bloke I Don't Know - at their gigs. In the long term the future for these three guys looks incredibly bright as they continue to record and perform there startlingly well written original tracks.
3 Foot Ninja are appearing all over the North East over the coming months, you can find out more about the band by visiting their website.
